John Cratchley The album credits describe this album as "candidly recorded"...I would say lovingly and intimately.A beautiful trio recording of music by the much missed Paul Motian.Nicolas Masson's familiarity with Motian's material (much of it originally envisaged for Lovano,Frisell, and Motian) feels obvious...this is an hommage, yes, but with a desire to make the music still vital and alive.I would call this tender devotion.
